Default How long before fruit begins to show after blooming?

I have tried to grow eggplants for years and normally (for me) they die before I get to the bloom stage. Well the stars have aligned this year and we have blooms. The only thing is the bloom stage seems overly long to me (A week maybe two). The blooms show no sign of becoming fruit. Is this normal? Oh they are Black Beauties.

Once the petals of the flower shrivel and drop off, the fruit develop fairly quickly - it is interesting to see the swelling of the fruit, which is covered by the thick calyx.
