Hello all! I am please to announce that my 2014 gardening season has begun! I am hoping to use this thread to track all of my progress through the season as I really enjoy going back and looking through. I hope others will enjoy as well

Below are pictures of my Zolotistyi Pepper Seedlings that I potted up yesterday (they were sown on 2/16/2014). Zolotistyi is a Belarusian sweet yellow bell type pepper that I am really looking forward to.

I also started all of my tomato seeds yesterday.

Your pepper plants are looking good. I've got to get my peppers started along with some flowers. I also have to do at least some spot germination test to see where I'm at with my older seed.

Thanks, Alfredo. I am worried that I may have started them too early this year, but they are always so much slower than my tomatoes I get impatient

. With the crazy weather we've had this winter, who knows when spring will come?

Below is a picture of my Killarney Red Garlic that doesn't seem to mind the cold. This is my first year trying garlic, so I'm excited to see how they turn out!

Nice garlic! Yeah I get impatient with the peppers too. I have onions regrowing from last season that don't mind the cold.

Nice! I just went around to my back garden this morning and saw some of my evergreen bunching onions showing some life again.
I am hoping that this severely cold winter didn't kill off my (going on) 3 year old garlic chive cluster...I guess time will tell

Very lovely peppers! I never hear of the variety before so I googled Zolotistyi Peppers- they look wonderful! I hope you have a great year, looking forward to more pics!

Thanks, Vespertino! The variety is supposed to have very thick walls, so I am really excited to use it for cooking.

I had very nice germination on all of my varieties. Hopefully this snow storm we had this morning will be out last this year. Fingers crossed!

It's been a chilly few weeks over here in the 'burbs of Philadelphia. The cool temps have slowed down the progress of my seedling slightly, but they look pretty healthy despite the weather. Below are a few pics I took last night. Hopefully with this week's warm up Spring is here to stay!

Thanks, Ginny! The cups are actually from Sam's Club. I think I got about a gross of them for 9 bucks

Hi Donna, I'm sorry you are having issues seeing the pics

I had to do work around by saving the pictures to my tomatoville photo album and then copying and pasting the image imbed. That's unfortunately about the end of my computer prowess...

Does anyone else know what could be causing Donna this issue?

What am I doing wrong with onions? I buy the sets and the nursery says they should be
baseball sized. This is my 3rd attempt and all I get is golf ball sized onions. The current
batch have been in the ground for five months. I'll be in the ground before they are ever
baseball sized!!
