Yes, it is from Tuesday January 7, 2020. Temperature correction. I have them in another room on the cabinet where it is 24 ° C. They dry up a bit but it has no negative effect on taste. On the contrary, they seem sweeter to me.

Had our last few "fresh" tomatoes on January 5. They were Green Bee which had been out in cool/cold unheated garage, then brought into kitchen. They didn't really seem to ripen, but were still tasty several weeks later. Thanks Fred.

My son came to me last night so I opened my third glass of canned Green Bee tomatoes and Ramallet Pequeñito Maloquin (peeled tomatoes). We agreed that tomatoes look nice (I like the combination of red and green) and taste even better. Ramallet also added a little cassian tomato flavor to the sweeter Green Bee. Finally, my son took another glass from me and took it home. This year I will have to grow more Green Bee and maybe even find another red tomato with similar consistency.

MrBig46, what did you use for the liquid in your tomatoes that you canned up above? I am tempted to give that a try this year.

Infusion: 1 liter of water, 125 ml of 8% vinegar, 12 dkg of sugar, 4 dkg of salt. To make it sweeter I added 20 tablets of artificial sweetener Spolarin. I used the same spice as for cucumbers, it is sold here under the name DEKO + half a leaf of fresh basil and onion wheel for a 0.3 liter glass. When I don't have DEKO, I put in a glass half a teaspoon of mustard seed, two balls of allspice and two balls of black pepper. Sterilization in a water bath for 15 minutes, 85 ° C (glass 0,3 l). This year I want to try to put honey instead of artificial sweetener.

PS.: Sorry to write so late. I have a lot to write and somehow I can't do it faster.

2.5-day Green Bee, Agi Red and Madera offer (ends midnight on 2/14) -- at www.growartisan.com

For anyone reading this on Tomatoville

We want to get our new gourmet-hybrid varieties into the hands of the skeptical, so we will be adding Green Bee, Agi Red and Madera to any and all purchases for the next 2.5 days. No order is two small. For example, order one packet of Blush at www.growartisan.com and receive all 3 hybrid varieties.

No need to do anything except order before 2/14 at midnight.

Oh my, you are ever so naughty, Fred! I was trying to behave....was.

I am curious about Jazz or Pink Jazz as I have seen it else where named. Can you tell me about how big the fruits get more or less and plant habit? It looks stunningly pretty.

Jazz (Pink Jazz) has very large fruits. Most often over a pound.
It is indeterminate.

Fred, how does Madera hold up on the vine with regard to splitting compared to Green Bee?

Madera has a shelf life of a couple weeks or more (depending on storage conditions).

On the vine it holds for quite a while. The last stages of ripening are significantly stretched out. But with excess water, it does split at the last stages. However waiting until full ripeness to pick is definitely suggested. Otherwise there is a tendency to use them before peak flavor.
