Deal Addict! Of course I'll share if I get a hold of them. I wrote a few people about them. We've probably crossed paths on this one.

Chris, if we get some, I'm sure the recipies will come soon after.

I went to that resaurant that I had them at to try and get a few but they came in a jar. Which is strange because they claim to only use fresh ingredients in everything they serve. They were stuffed with goat cheese.
While disapointed, they did sell me one of their jars. They are very tasty for sure.

I have been eating these peppers for a long time.
I think the trick to the juice they are in is sugar for the most part.
Notice how thick the juice is?
They may also have to be pressure cooked if the acidity is too low.

If you are so inclined you can do this with them.
I make a salad form these ingredients.
It is costly but you only live once.
1 jar of Peppadews (cut into quarters)
1 jar of yellow roasted peppers.(cut up)

1 jar of red roasted peppers. (cut up)

1 of those little containers of grape tomatoes. (I don’t have any home grown at the time.)
Black Cherry would be good too.
1 jar of pearl onions.
Several fresh garlic cloves cut into quarters.
Some pitted oil cured olives. If you have never had any they are real bitter. (I love them with good ale.(beer)

Put the juice of the Peppadews in the mix but none of the other juice.

Mix up well and become the hit of the salads.

Another real treat is to just put a cherry tomato inside the whole Peppadew and serve thusly.

I grew two of these Peppadew pepper plants this year. I saved some seed but unfortunately got them mixed with some other seed. The rest of the peppadew peppers are frozen in the freezer, hence the question about the seeds. I guess i will have a try at germinating some and see how it goes.

I freeze peppers also, but the seeds look brown after freezing. They don't look healthy at all. I will have to try to germinating some too. Wouldn't it be great if it works?!

I had some seeds given to me by a lady in Germany - she's South African - and they were confiscated by Australian Quarantine when I came thru customs on my return to Australia. I was flabbergasted, since they were correctly labelled, and squeaky clean, but some pip squeak in a uniform said they could be anything, and only "commercial" seeds were permitted! As if anyone would mistake a pepper seed as being some weed/threat to bio-security??

There is a thread on growfruitandveg.co.uk been running for a long time. A few people have seed. If nothing else you could get in line for 2009 as I am.
I may have some seed myself, haven't been to UK to collect my mail since October. If I get any I will share it for 2009.

Patrina,
next time put them in an envelope while O/S and address it to yourself. If it is opened by AQIS as mail then at least you have some paperwork and you circumvent the need to deal with a twerp in a uniform.

And when you get them to grow and get peppers I would like to have some seeds from you Robin that is if you don't mind.

Just remember the process is a trade secret but I bet I can crack the code on how to do it.

PP, next time either mail them or stick them in your bra. At least that way if they go for them at customs you can smack him. Ami

If you go through customs you can sew the seeds up in your clothes or put them loosely in your pocket or luggage.

I have been through custums a few times and the way I see they operate they cant see the forest for the trees.

With lace up shoes you can put them under where the laces go with a few weed seeds and other plant matter even if they look that hard and see something they will just think it was settled in there from walking in the woods or fields.
