Default Storing in pill bottles.

Is there any thing aginst storing tomato seeds in plastic pill bottles? I have hundred of them. The bottles, that is. As long as the seeds are dry do I need to worry that they might sweat, mold, of anything? This is in dry, dry, Colorado .

As long as the seeds are properly dry before putting in, they will be fine. I've actually even received flower seed from a wholesaler in pill bottles. It was pelleted seed so the pill bottles keep the seeds from getting mushed with their coating.

Kenny,

You should have no problems, as Remy stated.

I have no problems storing my seeds in nip bottles, here in not dry (as in humid), or not dry (as in alcohol), Massachusetts. There's a story behind my bottles, but I don't feel much like typing today.

I've done it for years, and there is no problem as long as the seeds are thoroughly dry. I had family members saving me the bottles and now I have too many,

I have also used the pill bottles for years. I always used 35mm film canisters, but since going to digital, my use of the containers couldn't keep up with my need. I went to a Wal-Mart pharmacy and purchased a hundred of the plastic prescription bottles for a couple of pennies each. So far I have not had a mold or mildew problem in the humid midwest.

Some people put a silica packet in the container holding their seeds.
