Well it’s mid October and my season is done here on Vancouver island. Picked the last of them yesterday and settling in for a big rain as Vancouver island is in the bullseye for an atmospheric river heading our way over the next 48 hours. I havent posed too much here this summer for lack of time but I do post frequently on NorthernGardenerCanada on Facebook and IG so please feel welcome to follow there if interested.
I’ll have more time now thst the garden is winding down
Overall a challenging year in many ways with Abnormal heat being the main feature earlier in the season. Dry dry dry kept me watering often daily as well. It’s a little hard to pull out healthy plants but it’s also nice to see them last the full season outdoors here especially once the rains finally came since the beginning of September.
These are the last of my tomatoes for this year and hopefully the last of them will ripen into the beginning of November.
Some exciting plans into 2022 shaping up and I will be releasing sweet baby Jade in tandem with my friend Teresa Smith very soon so stay tuned for that. We will also post that here on when the time comes.
It’s a bushy dark green potato leaf dwarf about 2.5’ tall with lots of beautiful green when ripe sweet cherries. Quite delicious and very different
Here’s my dining room table at the moment. Off to make another batch of tomato something

Karen, your tomatoes look so polished and unblemished compared to the ones coming out of MY fall garden! I have the problem of where to store them too -- they can't all stay on the dining table!

I’ll try to use them up asap. One thing about keeping them here is I can keep an eye on them and remove any that might want to spoil. I tend to forget them in boxes etc. here I am motivated to deal with them before the fruit flies do
lol

So true! I know some people wrap them individually in newspaper and store in boxes. I would forget to check them often enough, and they'd decompose out of sight! I usually end up putting my fall tomatoes in the guest bedroom, on the dresser and even in trays on the bed. I pass by on my way to the laundry room, so have no excuse for not peeking in on them.

Me too... I wish I had that type of a haul at the end of a season.

F6 beefsteak family photo.
Hoping to have several ready to release next summer after the F7 growout and some seed saving.

Among them are Cowboy, wild rose country, oh Canada, and bloodstone.

All midseason and the flavour is great on all of them

Wonderful! I’ve not heard of it grown in Turkey before now, That is very exciting for me to know, do you mind letting me know where you acquired the seeds?

I obtained several of your varieties from renaissancefarms but I had obtained True Colors from croatianseeds-store.com.
