Default Something Different

I found this amongst my Lime Green Salad seedlings today. A bit of a rarity here.

The tricot might revert to normal diploid habit when the
true leaves develop (I have seen that happen). If not, it
may produce no fruit or only a few gnarly ones. (3 sets of
chromosomes really scrambles a tomato's genetic
machinery.)

The one with 4 cotyledons looks interesting, though. That
one has possibilities for something new and different that
could be stabilized.

Thanks Dice.

I hadn't planned on keeping any of the Lime Green Salad seedlings, but looks like I may keep the 4 cotyledon plant and see what eventuates from it, if anything.

It'll be very interesting to see what you could get from a tetraploid seedling, you may get unusually large tomatoes or leaves or something curious.

I'm seen that in peppers, both in my own, and from others excitedly posting pictures. Usually they just develop into normal peppers plants.
