Default do dwarf peppers need staking/support?

NOTE: the 'dwarf' is in reference to height and spread (width) of plant itself, NOT the fruit size being 'dwarf'. I also know this part of forum is for peppers; however I have the same questions about eggplants too.

I can see the point and necessity of staking/supporting w/standard size plants. However w/dwarf pepper plants, will they be able to support themselves, and bare the weight of the fruit by themselves?

Caging staking is recommended because it increases yields, supposedly makes plant healthier, and/or helps plant support weight w/fruit better.

Eggplant....

6"-7" spread (width) and 6"-7" height (how tall); largest dwarf varieties range from 1'-2' w/height and width.

Peppers....

Ranges from a half foot w/height to about a 1' tall. Don't know with spread, as it doesn't say.
