25 Days

I started these seeds about 25 days ago and here is what they look like now.
Here are 2 pictures of the miserable things.

Looks like its time for transplant and its only January.

Those are some of the healthiest seedling at that size I have ever seen. I have to ask what type of lighting system you are using.

2 GE Eccolux F40SP65-ECO

SP65 40W USA.

This is what they say.

KI use what ever the most lumins I can get
These are the bright daylight lights that put out a bright white light.

They are 4 feet long and 40 W.

I have them on stacks of paper back books and add 2 books one on each side as the plants grow.

They are also dirty and I need to clean them off.

Thanks to you I cleaned one off so I could see what they were.

Definitely nothing fancy.

I actually enjoy sprouting and raising them up to the time of the Teenager stage.

After that they seem to think they are smarter than me and I kick them out of the house for good.

The only thing I will let them do is drop their children off.

The trick is to beat Children's Services and dispose of the evidence when you corrupt the dropees.

When corrupting the dropees, I have found it is really easy to get them "juiced"......:-)

Nice looking plants Worth1, mine are about ten days old now. So far my light setup in the garage is working out nicely, even though it is in the seventies and eighties outside.Sure is hard to give them the cold treatment down here.

It's going to be pretty hard for any of us who are looking at snow covered gardens to muster up much sympathy for your plight, mysidx.

I guess I didn't give that one much thought before clicking submit.

Kath, I will say that all of the seeds you gave me through your offers, except for one has had 90-100% germination. Amazon Chocolate was slow, but I do have one that emerged.

I guess that's sort of a mix of good and bad news about the germination- how many seeds of AC did you sow?

So, at what do you fertilize them and what do you fertilize them with?

At the point you saw the plants they had no fertilizer at all.
just the peat mix.

I have a bottle of 10% household hydrogen peroxide to stop damping off.
Hydrogen peroxide is already sold at what 3% so it is pretty weak.
Then after they get to the size you see them I spray or water with a very weak solution of miracle grow

When they get outside and in the garden I use a product called Ladybug made here in Austin by an old Hippie like myself named John Dromgoole who owns a place called the Natural Gardener.
Every time I go there it is a great experience
I end up giving people advice on plants and what to grow and where and in what kind of soil.
If the people that work there dont have an answer they look it up on line.
I really love helping folks with plants and I wish I had a job in a place like this.

But I digress.

Like I said before nothing complicated about the seedlings just plain old farming.
