Default pruning question

i got a question : is it ok to cut the tomato branch say half way as far as length goes, instead of right at the stem to keep the branches from growing into the next plant? ---tom

If you mean leaf branches, then yes. I do this all the time as I grow staked and close together.

I agree. I also prune part way if the end leaves are diseased. Tomatoes recover amazingly quick!

(Indeterminate tomatoes can take a lot of pruning.)

Pruning part of leaves is aok, and pruning part of suckers works too - it even has a special name "Missouri pruning".
