Default Hand pollinating with saved pollen during hot months?

Has anyone ever done this, or heard of someone else trying it? Using a tooth brush to collect some pollen, put it in a vial with some desiccant in the fridge or freezer, and take it out to hand pollinate flowers when its too hot for plants to produce viable pollen. I think i am going to try it next year if i remember to collect pollen when the weather is nice.

I've certainly thought about it. When I collect pollen for crosses I just keep them in the cool basement and add some fresh pollen if I can get it each time, but that is a time frame of days not weeks.
I believe crmauch has posted about storing pollen in the fridge, in the crosstalk subforum.
