Ahh, both Phil and Gus.

EDIT:

OH MY GOD. I was going to say, they are like bosom buddies, and just then I realized what the heck that show title meant! Bosom was not some strange synonym for Likeable, or Endearing, or Swell. My mind is now blown! LOL Actually maybe bosom kind of is a synonym for those words.

In my defense, I was very young when that show was on, my dad never would have let us watch it on TV, and thankfully I think I blocked it out for all these years. It just popped into my head, I swear! Tom Hanks and Honey I Shrunk the Kids guy!

I try again. Phil and Gus. They are just like Perfect Strangers. Like the Odd Couple.

Also, for those not from PA, Gus is the second most famous groundhog in Pennsylvania.

Well they love our pear tree. Pear sauce, apple sauce, sliced fruit, peanut butter, and whatever they are already eating, and try to wear gloves to not leave too much scent on the trap.

JR, you're a genius! I put a bit of canned pear in the trap & had a hog within the hour!

Too much experience, rather than genius. If I was a genius I would know how to re-repress a certain song that has been in my head all day.

It's a shame, I like groundhogs, they have a lot of spunk. Any animal smart enough to sleep through the winter gets my respect. And they sure adapted well to farm and garden life. The problem is the animals that adapt the best to live near humans generally cause the most conflict.
