I don't think most of the products made for spraying use quite enough spreader in their formulations and to get good coverage you have to spray far more than necessary. When a bit of soap is added I have found that I need less spray mix to get good coverage. I have used spreader stickers in the past and can't see a lot of difference in them and just a bit of soap but maybe there is some.

A spreader sticker makes it stick to the plant much longer nor does it wash off with a rain. soap just breaks the tension of the water making it cover the plant better without rolling right off. it doesn't actually make it stay on the plant for a longer period of time.

Cole. at the cost of some of the sprays we use I can't afford to not use the spreader sticker. I view it as an investment for my sprays.

About Fontelis

I didn't know what it was so had to Google it, and what I found was interesting/

https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...proved+for+NYS

Approved in NYS but maybe not

http://www.southeastfarmpress.com/ve...-spray-program

I disagree with the above in one imortant way and that's the comment that Early Blight, Alternaria solani is THE most important tomato diseases there is. Fact is there are 4 most common diseases world wide and that's

Early Blight and Septoria Leaf Spot, both fungal

Bacterial Speck and Bacterial Spot, both,of course bacterial.

But some good suggestions in the farm press article anyway.
