hello ...thanks for the new forum

hello everyone.
i am very happy to find this website, since i have been unable to post on gw's tomato forum for the last few weeks. i guess i need to upgrade my internet equipment.

i am happy to see some of my favorite tomato friends here.
i've been very busy here in texas building new beds,.(i have doubled the size of my garden, thanks to you folks,..earl and bully are probably going to cause my back to go out on me again..they are too generous with their seeds
)... moving railroad ties,filling beds with garden soil,forking wood chips for walkways,constructing 7 foot tomato cages (only 30...but it seemed more like 300),shredding, and spreading leaves, collecting hay and manure... i'm shooting for the biggest sad sac grown this year...LOL...

carolyn, i was so proud to hear of your progress with your diet..i think you've inspired a lot of us to thin down...thank you.
i just wanted to say hi, and thanks for the new website..

i have noticed you online, and wondered where you are, in this great big state.
you always have good advise, and gonefishing-(bill) always seem to hit the nail on the head for conditions here in tx.

i'm down here...halfway between dallas and houston. aggieland.

can you believe this weather?....i've been working in the garden with a t-shirt and shorts....getting a bit of sunburn...feels more like march-april than feb.

glad to be outside...doing garden stuff.

Yep, it's always their fault...but they mean well. :-)

Jeri, I'm in the metroplex. Fine list there -- I can definitely see the some of the Earl/Bully Influence.

You'll have to let me know how Sioux, Orange Heirloom, and Lillian's Yellow do for you.

Yep, this weather sure is something. I've already started putting my seedling flats out during the day, and will probably be planting up about 12 or so containers worth of earlies and compacts sometime next week. Varieties like New Big Dwarf, Kimberly, Lime Green Salad, Azoychka, Mountain Princess, Taxi, Green Grape-stuff like that.

Not more than I'm willing to pull into the garage on the one or two nights that I'll likely need to protect them.

Were you planning on planting a couple early?

i have 2 brothers in the metro plex
....one is a gardener...one is a fisherman....i love them both...and i'll never admit the one that makes me gush the most!..(because it's a tie! LOL)

i saw the picture of your orange heirloom you posted last summer....i fell in love.... i can hardly wait to try that beauty!

I have more ultra early, cold tolerant and tasty varieties for this season.

And my avatar is our national Belarusian flag (second edition so far, very similar to what we had in Soviet Union times)

Seems to me Mischka was very fond of Green Mile movie (starring Tom Hanks) :wink: a la Mouseville
