I have 3 Mat-Su ready to pick. Going to let them finish ripening on the plant since they are in the coldframe. Excited to eat one.

Well its official, my Mom loves MSE. I took her a big 14oz one this weekend. She ate it this morning and called to tell me it was "probably the best tomato shes had in years, maybe ever" This lady does not say these kind of things. In fact most of the tomatoes I take her she has some kind of complaint about, so this is exceptional praise coming from her. So I will certainly be carrying MSE forward. On the plus side I actually like them myself. Great work Mark/Sherry and thanks!

Well Mat-Su Express seems to be the Tomato of the Year Winner. It's a big hit everywhere. Not just for performance but taste as well.
Way to go Sherry and Mark! Now it's time for you to do another one...

Mat-Su Expressss ....
Seeds germinated and have cot leaves so far. Thanks, Cole. My fall garden is ready for it. I have few other contenders, both from cutting and seeds. Let the game begin !

Just ate my first Mat-Su Express from my garden and wow! The buzz on this one is true! Great tasting and early. I have another ripe, and a couple more medium sized blushing on the counter from three plants.
Even scraped the cutting board drippings and saved the 15 or so seeds just in case the varmints attack my plants this year. Not going to be without this one again! Well done, Mark and Sherry!

I had my first one too a few days ago.
I dont like red tomatoes. I tried many and never found one that I liked. NOW: I LOVE Mat-Su Express !!!! It is not just zingy like many reds but also very tasty. And yes, thank you for this one ! |

Hope seeds will be offered in the MMMM swap this fall. It sounds like a real winner and I do want to try it next year.

It's fun to see all the great reviews. I still have a supply of last year's seed that I have been mailing out if anyone wants to PM me.

My Mat-Su is growing as my second crop. I started it much later than my other second crop. But it is coming along nicely.
Thanks to Cole.

Plenty set, but no ripe fruit at this point. I have 5 going, 4 Cole/ 1 AKmark with very consistent habit from all plants, medium build potato-leaf with huge blossom sets and minimal BER.

I still have yet to eat one!
The one I thought was MSE is throwing pinks, so I think I mixed something up back in spring when labeling. The one I know for sure is MSE is grafted. Whatever the rootstock is (along with all my grafted ones) is not producing ripe fruit quickly for me compared to standard seedling plants. Plants are loaded but not ripening. Any day now.. |

Done searching for old-fashioned flavor
Because Mat-Su has it, bold tomato flavor - tart with just enough sweetness. We tasted the first one from my "F6A, plant 11" greenhouse plant at 65 days. It's a great producer, too. Thanks Mark!
