Thanks again for all you do!

Wow, and wow again.

Thank you so to all the contributors, and especially Gary! I always love the getting recommended varieties for this years garden, and that is where I start this years list. Not always a success, but it's a start. Hopefully, they will all make it through the season and into next years swap.

If anyone can give me a hand with the beans, it would be very much appreciated I plant a variety of what is sent along a 12' length of netting. My question is how do you keep track of which pole beans are which. I label all when planting, but they seem to pop up and tangle up to a point I cant identify which is which. When harvesting so many look similar that I can't tell them apart to put in the swap. Is there a secret?

Thank you again for all you do Gary!

Try not to plant similar looking beans near each other. Planting by color is how I usually do it. A few white ones of one variety, then a few black ones, then brown with dark streaks, then two-tone red/white frosted ones, etc...

I do have the luxury of a huge collection of beans with many different colors, shapes, sizes, and patterns.

And, season to season, the size and shape of harvested beans can sometimes vary quite a bit. So, try to keep a large black bean well away from a small black bean. And, a black bean that isn't 100% mature at dry down can be brownish or blueish in color, to add to the confusion.

I hope I didn't send you all white beans.

Let me know what I sent, and I can help you arrange the row.

Yes to the bean thing!! I planted teepees with 3 very different beans and I was real confused on some of them! I ended up just eating those for dried beans as I couldn’t figure it out!

Woo hoo, a big package was stuffed in my mailbox when I checked before the storm hit. It probably arrived Saturday, but went undiscovered until yesterday (too cold!).

That is a great bean sorting routine. I think this will be the year to finally give the tomato soil a breather and do some experimenting with beans, and flowers, and greens, and leeks, and horehound, and ...
And thank you for remembering the alternate source for Andes Horn, as well as all the others that I messed up on

Thanks for the bean info, the ones I received were all brown, but I have PLENTY from last year and the year before to try to segregate them.

The seeds came on Monday. Gary thank you very much. There's so much I do not know what to do with it yet.

Received my seeds too! Tons of them - everything I asked and gazillion of extras! Thank you very much, Gary, it will take me several days just to sort them out - something fun to do during cold and gloomy evenings.

Dear Gary,
My fat little package was happily in my mailbox today, as always so much more than expected. I have an inkling how much work this is and I wish to thank you very much for all you do.
I hold you partially responsible for the seed addiction I happily suffer from.
Thank you as well to everyone who contributes their seeds! What a wonderful group
I wish you all your best ever season!

The swap is supposed to be the cure for that which ails you. For some, there's no overcoming the addiction.

I'm sorry about the lack of non-red determinate tomatoes. Varieties coming in generally are labeled as determinate or as by color, but not by both. Plus, there may not be that many non-reds circulating among traders. If you come up with a list for next year, or start a T'ville thread on the subject, I'll know what to look out for.

I'm interested in some of those watermelon (Florida Giant, Petite Yellow, Scaly Bark, Shiny Boy). Should I just send you an SASE since my packet has already arrived?
