Default Yellow Submarine -

Hey everyone - hope all is well.

My fiance (soon to be wife on Sept. 1; wow its gone by so fast??!!)
loves the size and shape of the Yellow Pear variety.
She loves to cook, so she'll use them as little "eye catchers" in salads
or little "boats" stuffed for appetizers.
Well for me, the flavors been "just ok".

To make a long story longer, I set out on a quest to find a better tasting Yellow Pear, and to tell you guys the truth, we've found it.

Its no longer an RL plant but a PL plant! It still produces 100's of fruits (that have been rolling in over the past couple weeks), but what really gets me is the flavor. No longer bland, and has some "bite"
we have found a tastey version of Yellow Pear, and its called
"Yellow Submarine".

So here it is, Yellow Submarine in all its glory.

~ Tom

Thought I had mentioned it in this thread, but was more likely a private conversation. But something for the record:

My original seed source for Yellow Submarine was supplied by Bill Malin of NM (Spudleafwillie) who acquired them through the seed company in Ireland.

Hi Tom,

I received some seed of yellow submarine from a generous TV member. I am looking forward to growing it this year. I think yellow pear is spitter on flavor and even worse that that it usually gets diseased early on. I' ve had the same experience with Fargo. Funny thing though, some people love them and always ask me for them.
