mottled leaves on Red Noodle
A few of my Red Noodle long bean leaves developed some light green mottling and puckering since yesterday. Is this a bug or disease I can do something about? Can it be related to the hot weather? Do I need to pull the affected plants?
I can take a photo later this week. |

A photo would be helpful. The problem could - hopefully - be water or nutrient related. However, my first suspicion would be mosaic. Check the images here for comparison:

Here's a photo I took 5 days ago. Yesterday when I checked, the leaves looked a little healthier.
If it is mosaic, do I need to pull them out? Does the virus affect production, or is it contagious? The only other long beans I have are 10 ft. away; I have scarlet runner beans and common beans (Trionfo Violetto) on the other side of the arch. I got the seeds in a trade and I don't know if they were saved seeds or commercial. Last edited by habitat_gardener; June 26, 2012 at 03:56 PM. |
