There's something about the MMMM for me that I have not even told Tormato about. Going back to my first year here, I didn't know about growing tomato seeds, and my first attempt at growing peppers from seed was by planting seeds like you would plant beans. I had no idea what I was doing.

My first year with the MMMM - I was so reluctant to join. 4 people sponsored me, and when I got all of the seeds - I had to learn. Tomatoville taught me how to grow tomato and pepper seeds. That was around 11,500 posts and a whole lot of experience ago.

I'm just now reading this, and so glad I did - thought I had missed the window, but since it's been extended I will send some seeds in. Thanks Gary!

The seeds of these are smaller compared other brassica variety, but resist the urge to crowd them, they grow big fast.

Would I possibly be able to add some requests(from some of the newer posted available varieties on here) on to my wish list that I included in my package, or would that complicate things too much? There are so many interesting varieties!

Thanks!

I'm responding because I'm guessing Gary is busy and I'm awake anyway Feel free to correct me anyone if I get the facts muddled.

Tormato has indicated that he's posting the lists to allow people to add to their wishlists. When supplies are limited that's indicated by a number indicating packets, or the number of seeds in a few cases, available. Items marked with an asterisk are varieties it would be good to have more seed of sent in NEXT year. So if you request those please consider saving extra seed after next year's harvest.

You can add as many varieties as you like of anything not a tomato to your wishlist. In keeping with the mostly mystery portion of the mater mailing, tomatoes are listed in a separate 'MMMM spoilers' thread. For tomatoes, Gary has asked us to keep our total wishlist to 20 varieties or fewer. But the spoiler lists are to let you modify your wishlist based on what's actually available. There's still no guaeuntee you'll get everything on your wishlist, but the likelihood is higher if you're working from a list of what was sent in rather than a list of known tomato varieties.

People have just been responding to the individual lists as they're posted, picking a few tomatoes in the categories that interest them most. I'm not sure whether one list would make it easier for Gary or not since I don't know if he puts individual packets together one at a time or if he works on all packages at once by tomato variety. I'm guessing it's probably a bit of both. I'd suggest keeping you wishlist additions in a separate post but in the thread the list you're working from is in. Adding that I forgot to put Porter on my wishlist here is unlikely to improve my odds of getting it in my package. Making the request in a different thread is likely to get me mocked, or at least gently corrected.
