A cheap battery-powered ("travel") electric toothbrush works really well. You can see the pollen "pouring" out of the flower.

Best effect from using a blower is with daily agitation of the flowers. I don't know of any studies showing this, but have seen it in action several times.

I have never used my leaf blower for shaking the plants but it should work if not done to excess. It has been really windy here for the past couple of weeks and very very hot and dry yet my plants have actually set fruit far better than normal for this time of the year and I attribute that to the windy conditions which keep the plants shaking most of the day. Of course watering them heavily in this dry weather and using TTF are also contributors.
