Hi ron, ME is the abbreviation for micro elements such as copper, iron, boron etc. necessary for plant health.

I have enjoyed looking at the great photos in this thread, Levent. Nice sharp detail of the tomato "peach fuzz" as we would call it, and the inside of the fruit.

Seeing it in your parsley photo has made me want to check it diatomite.

I topped the plastic container up with 20-20-20+ME nutrient solution thus the bottom of bulbs just touched the water surface.No need to change the nutrient solution.You can add water if necessary.Set up and leave it till harvest!

I love your salad plate, we have snow on the ground now, so my season is over! I'm intrigued by your mini hydroponic projects. Years ago, on some USENET gardening group, I remember a guy talking about growing lettuce on a floating styrofoam sheet bed. I think you had to dig a shallow trench in the ground, just larger than a sheet of styrofoam insulation, line it with plastic, and make up a basic Miracle Grow type of solution to float the sheet on. Holes were punched in the styrofoam and lettuce plants set in to grow. The only maintenance was supposed to be adding water to the pit as needed, or in the event of heavy rain washing out the bed, possibly more fertilizer. I never got around to trying this, but still think about the low maintenance and less slug damage.

Current state of Red Robin in diatomite.It has been grown under lights from the begining.I don't have a great expectation on taste.Because as I know Red Robin doesn't have a positive reputation about flavour.Soon I'm gonna try it out and post my remarks.
