bammer's luck

tested out some seeds for germination a while back and kept 3 bammer's luck and they are still in pots, out of the 3 plants 2 are potato leaf 1 is regular leaf. anyone else out there growing it? and what type leaves are you getting? thought they were supposed to be regular leaf, thanks---tom

I grew it last year, small to medium sized tomato, very prolific, good taste.

I don't remember the leaf type, it looks RL in the photos.

Actually the breeder says he was looking for PL's. I went looking at the forum I received the seeds through, and the post where I commented that of four seeds started I had 2 PLs, and two that were varying degrees of mitten leaves, one closer to RL. He said some mittens were ok, but strong PL's were preferred. The pictures he posted for the previous generation were a dark burnished red with greenish stripes. Mine were pretty much just the solid dark shade in the pictures. I'll be interested to see if the stripes show up for you.

Here's a link to my tomato seedling catalog for this year, and a pretty good photo of Bammer's Luck is just a couple of pages in. My catalog lists it as regular leaf, but I can't guarantee that is correct. I need to go out to the tomato patch and check.

Ok, so I just today got to the Bammers Luck part of the tomato forest in my pruning, and, sure enough, mine are potato leafed. I'm amazed I remembered to notice!

Oh dear! Unless they flatten out and get rounder as they get bigger, that is not the right shape! But if you end up with bomb shaped beautifully striped original color and good flavor that may be an interesting variant to keep going.
