Very nice, when did you plant in out?

By the way, did you get the email I sent about the garlic farm I visited in Medina?

Good to hear because I've got Red Barn growing ..... I also found the tags for Aunt Ginny's Purple and German Red Strawberry (only saw one mater on GRS though :'( ....I have some other GRS out there somewhere and I hope the other ones are more prolific than the one I found).

I keep forgetting about Red Barn and I shouldn't since I was the first to list it in the SSE Yearbook and it's a great tasting large beefsteak variety.

I think most of you know that it was bred by Joe Bratka's father and he also bred Box Car Willie, Mule Team, Pasture and Great Divide.

Joe found the seeds in glass jars in a toolshed on the property, couldn't germinate any of the seeds and sent them to me and I got lucky.

There were two or three I couldn't germinate and I always wondered what they might have turned out to be.

Carolyn,
I really liked Red Barn. Very old timey tasting tomato.
I wish I had snapped some pics of when I sliced it. Very beautiful and covered bread perfectly.

These are a couple of the better plants in our garden this year. Looking forward to trying them out.
