We just had the most torrential downpours here in Boston. All rain buckets full. In and out of the deluge, I picked all I could to prevent tomato explosions.

This particular SOO (sweet ozark orange) plant is growing where a Brandywine grew last year, and produced a ton. Specs:early all morning sun, more shade in the PM, between fence and wall, so warm induction in the spring, and some shade in the dead summer heat. Little watering.

This is the second batch, about 12#, with potential for 10# more based on green fruit. Total expected well over 30#.

These guys are going though the mill and in the pot by sunday.

Bump on an older thread...

Biggest producers for me:

Beefsteak:
Gold Medal, Dr. Wyche's Yellow, Marianna Peace, Omar's Lebanese, Gregori's Altai,

Cherry:
Matt's Wild Cherry, Black Cherry, Mountain Magic, Super Sweet 100

Globe:
Celebrity, Chef's Choice Orange, Kimberly

Oblate:
Indian Stripe, Humph, Rutgers Select, Azoychka, Manyel

Pear:
Yellow Pear (bland, but highly productive)

Ping Pong:
Dr. Carolyn's

Keep hearing wonderful things about Willamette and it's got me interested. How well do you think it would do on the humid east coast (MD; Zone 6B)

Thanks,

smithmal
