Wow, Im such an amateur. With so few plants! I grew 4 good ones last year...Bella Rosa, Celebrity, Climbing Trip l Crop, and Steakhouse. I could easily have grown Celebrity and Climbing Tripl Crop again, as those 2 were my favorite (and likely will again at some point), but I only had room for 4 this year, so I chose Red Snapper, Paul Robeson, Sun Sugar, and Rose. All up and thriving. Will fertilize with TTF, fish fertilizer, and Agro Thrive. I have a jar of Dukes in the fridge just waiting for that first tomato.

Well, the vast majority of my tomato plants have survived thus far. I generally don't have problems getting them to sprout, or have issues with them once they are in the garden. It's the time in between that the grim reaper likes to come visit.

So far, I'm at 80% of sown survival. Seeded 71 tomato seeds, am currently at 57 plants that I finally managed to get repotted today. All of them are going to reside outside now, unless it's going to get close to freezing at night. Trying this new to me this year, but it makes sense that they'll do best outdoors in fresh air and natural sunlight

I spent all day working on my website, I get to replant for my May Plant Sale tomorrow. I tilled up the ground and jump on the Tractor Yesterday. Back to farming, will be exciting, saving money by fixing my own website. But I want to get my hand in the dirt placing these tomatoes in the sunshine that is coming this weekend.

This is the first year I've done more than start a half dozen plants...it is indeed addictive! Started
many of Carolyn's old seeds thanks to Farmer Shawn and his distribution. I've been growing them in a mixture of coir and old composted barnyard scrapings, sterilized in the microwave. Must be beginner's luck; almost everything is doing well. Here in zone 5a I'll probably wait until Memorial Day to plant them out, half in the garden and half in pots. I've learned the hard way that it doesn't pay to jump the gun!

Thought I'd just update on the tomatoes! Everything that survived repotting and then final transplant is looking great. I did lose about 6 of the marzano fire after planting out, and I honestly don't know if they got eaten, or if they just weren't strong enough to grow. Well, a couple I KNOW were eaten off, found nothing but a bare stalk about 2" long sticking out of the ground all of a sudden. The rest are looking great, everything starting to blossom good. Looking forward to having tomatoes before too long, can't wait for that first BLT!

Hey DJ Wolf: I'm also growing Marzano Fire. What do the leaves look like on yours?

Here's my short list, almost two of each:
Start F1, Pink Cherrywine, Maglia Rosa, Marzano Fire, Benevento, Amalfi Orange, and Taiga.

I am proud of all of you and your exciting tomato list.

I am finally finish putting all my Tomatoes and Vegetables in the ground. My husband helped me put 400 pepper plants in the big farm area. Those Pepper Plants was so happy to be placed in the ground as if they was smiling at me as I watered them tonight.

My first tomato is from the "Red Robin" Dwarf Tomato Plants". I sold out of all my Dwarf Plants this year. Thank God I have a Large crop of this babies this Year. I also sold out of My Hawaiian Pineapple Tomato Plants.

But, I am free to cook-up all the Cherries Pies as my "Cherry Tree" is loaded, Amen!!.

They are regular leaf, but very, I guess you could say whispy? Much smaller leaves that my other tomatoes, much smaller plants. Really kind of thin foliage I think. The overall plant size being smaller doesn't surprise me as they are a determinate, but I expected them to grow bigger faster than what they have. I'm just now starting to get blossoms open on them, and I would say the average plant is under 3' tall. Now that said, part of that could be the weather we've had. A brutal hot spell early in May, then abnormally cool and wet.

If I think of it tomorrow, I'll try to snap a couple pictures and post them

Hi, yes, the tomato is determinate and remains shorter. Mine also has wispy leaves, I was just making sure since it's one of the ones that is getting twisted from possibly too much N (another thread). Hopefully it'll recover soon, I'm excited to try it!
