Bad batch of potting mix????
I bought 4 or 5 big bags of MG potting mix this year for my EB's and pots. I noticed that when I water the pots and they drain on the pavement I can see a rainbow as if soap or oil is in the mix. Is this normal? Seems strange to me.

Maybe the fertilizer that is mixed in it. Or, something that was on the pavement to start with.

I also purchased large bags of MG potting mix. The first thing I noticed upon opening one of the bags was a strong petroleum smell...but there are no issues with the plants that have been potted up so far. I will continue to keep an eye on them this summmer.

Dust, THe driveway was clean. It even did it when I moved the pots to the patio and watered them there. The plants are growing fine but just makes me wonder what is in the mix this year.

TV, the fertilizer in MG products is PETROLEUM based.

I had a friend come here a few years back and she brought a bag of MG potting soil, it stunk of some sort of petroleum smell. That was my first and last encounter with MG, I just refuse to use it.
