I had decided that my not-Chadwick Cherry was not Jaune Flammee either. The colour was right, but the shape was wrong according to Carolyn's book.

Time to go crawling on my hands and knees and peer up into my tomato jungle to see what JF is doing in there and what the shape is .

Next year I will give my plants more space. I will, I will, I will!

I just check my Jaune flame and they are round. My Amy's apricot however has what I would describe as dimples at the stem end and they aren't perfectly round. They're still green so not sure exactly what color they will be when ripe.

Rats! My JF are not round, but oval (and still green). Sigh!

My JF is changing color and beginning to flash that beautiful orange. How bright should it get?

You are right! I searched the web and found very few tomatoes called Juane Flamme that had elongation similar to mine. I don't think mine are trussed as "cherry-like" either. Plus, it is a bit on the large size too. Really makes me wonder, now. I'll check my friends plants and see what he has going.

Keep us posted. My JF fruits are round but not perfectly round but certainly they aren't oval. A few of them look sort of oval as they first develop but then they round out. Hope you figure it out.

The year I grew JF I had two plants in the greenhouse and two outdoors - fruit in the greenhouse were elongated, fruit outdoors were much rounder, pretty well round.
Just wanted to say, shape is a wierd thing with tomatoes, it can vary quite a bit without being genetically 'different'.
All of them tasted great.

That's most interesting, Bower!

I can't wait for my JF to ripen so that I can taste them and get some clue as to whether they are the real deal!

I liked them a lot! As I recall they have a unique flavour with a hint of apricot. Most of the fruit also had a little red blush in the middle... extremely pretty!
