Default Giant Toimato Seeds

Often, I have several varieties that I need and get frustrated in not finding them
all at one source. Yesterday, I had only two of quite popular seeds and many of
my usual sources had one or the other but not both. In my searching, I found
this new to me source and they had both, responded like lightening and were
very polite and cooperative. Hope the rest of the story plays out as well.

FYI.........http://gianttomatoseeds.com/tomato_seeds.html

PS Hope I didn't duplicate, but didn't see them in a fast scan.

After spending some time at that link,I have to wonder. Especially the long list which says those varieties have the genetic potential to grow big ones.

Those are the ones the person was growing and that list, IMO, is missing many that are known to grow 2-3# tomatoes.

Nope, no list from me.

I would be surprised if the seller is not a Tomatoville member. They are connected to Delectation of Tomatoes which has links from Tania's pages. The website has many more varieties than just giant tomatoes, and when roaming around all the website links he/she seems very amenable to helping someone get varieties from his/her limited seed stock not on the main sale pages. It looks to me like the website is a work in progress and the person is sincerely interested in op/heirloom tomatoes. If I didn't already have more than enough varieties for next year I would be tempted to give them a try. Let us know what happens, Alpinejs!

compare. the above was from the url for Delectation, but more info here than the other one.

Carolyn, can't say it's a Tville member though although I'm trying to remember who here is from Utah.

I've ordered from Giant Tomatoes for 2 years and I am very pleased with the speed and quality of service.

The seeds I got germinated well.

The owner is Dale and he took the time to answer some questions for me, and also included some bonus seeds with my order.

It is my impression that he is dealing with an operation on the verge of getting big because he offered product to anyone who would come out and help him. I don't know if that offer still stands. He is in Utah.

I've actually landed on both those sites a few times in the couple of days researching my Mystery Mater Mailing seeds. To me it looks like the two websites are the same outfit. The link Carolyn posted to DT has an update from a year ago with a statement that "major changes are coming" to the website. The first link Alpinejs posted has more recent updates. I'm guessing he never took down the original site when he launched the newer one???

If you look on the home page of gianttomatoseeds.com it clearly states:
"You are (virtually) at: www.gianttomatoseeds.com / www.delectationoftomatoes.com."

It's an odd working site as most of the links open in new windows for me.

I knew he had been mentioned before. PA_Julia referred to him as a friend of her's in this thread.

The two are indeed the same operation. I've ordered from Delectation for two years now and the service is great. The selection of seeds is vast with lots of hard to find varieties at a very fair price. Have yet to have a problem with germination or any off types. The seeds are also packaged well with useful info on the variety as well as the date the seed was processed and weight/size of specimen used. Happy and satisfied customer here.

Blk_Vegan....glad to read that you have been pleased with that source. I
was pleased with my first contact and hoped they proved to be such that
deserved a spot in the hearts of Tomatovillians. And, yes, Dale is the man and
seems very efficient.

Dale posts here as SEAMSFASTER... He has a huge list of varieties and the last time I looked he was keeping track of the seeds from each individual tomato, not just the variety! He also lists his harvest date, which is unusual for vendors. I admire his record keeping and attention to detail, he must be getting about 4 hours of sleep this time of year

I think that all of us are very fortunate to have such a great group of professional suppliers
to our avocation. Yes, I have read about a negative, but have dealt with about six seed
companies and they all have been a pleasure to do business with As much as the one bad
egg probably deserves it, the rest deserve the kudos and a standing ovation!!
