Default Grandfather Ashlock

This morning I noticed all my GA seedlings were regular leaf.
They look great.
GA is potato leaf.
(Who the heck are you?!)

Don't cry for me, Tomatovillians. I have seeds from 2007. So we'll be having a little bit of a late start.

Barb, dare you mention where the seeds came from that gave you all RL plants?

Are you going to grow out just a couple of them to see what the F1 cross looks like? But were ALL the seedlings RL or just some and how many seeds had you planted? Just curious after my suggestion to grow out the possible F1 hybrid.

It's a darn good variety but you already know that.

Hi Carolyn

Sorry for the delay, I was scanning one of my out of print books into the computer so I can eBook it and it's a horrible amount of work. But so much better than typing!

That dastardly source of the bad Grandfather Ashlock seeds is me! The way last year and the blight went, I'm not sure I was in my right mind when I saved the seeds, labeled the coffee filter etc. Anything could have happened.

And yes, I thought there could have been a cross. Why not?! It was the year of catastrophe out there. But with my limited space I have to think hard about growing it out for the curiosity value.

It is a tie with it being my favorite tomato. It's pink, PL, big, beautiful, early, and doesn't ask for anything from me. What's not to love?

I am growing a tomato that looks just like your Avatar. Just kidding.

Anyway I got one seed of this type to come up. It looks great! I hope it doesn't die!
