I thought it would help me be less scared of him if I gave him a name, so I named him Johnny Cochran. He is one laid-back snake. I can put my foot on him through the plastic and roll him back and forth like a log, and he doesn't care.

My outdoor garden is about 750 row feet. 200 of that is now planted and trellised.

16' cattle panels are $20 at the farm store, but it looks like Menard's has half panels for $7 : https://www.menards.com/main/p-14444...13-c-12502.htm

I may spend a lot of money there tomorrow.

So you went ahead and planted - just inside? Or are these rows some of your outside plantings - frost is done? Do you have a pic of your supports, like maybe last yrs?
Thanks
Pete

Oh yeah, we are well past frost, I think. These are outside rows. I can snap a pic today. I'm on my way to Menard's in a bit to buy some of those panels.

Just a heads up, that link for 4x8 remesh at menards is not cattle panel. The cattle panel is galvanized 8 ga. That mesh is CRW, so likely ungalvanized, and only 10/11 ga. I use CRW cages and like them but they are not the same.

Crud. You're right. Thank you for pointing that out.

I think my cattle panels are actually 4-guage: https://www.ruralking.com/red-brand-...nel-94913.html

They are nice, but at 16', not exactly easy to bring home from the store.

I just found a lumberyard that will deliver 8' x 15' 10 gauge remesh panels for $14.50 each. One panel will do 30' of row when cut in half.

I've taken my bolt cutters along and cut them to size before loading.

Good grief! Absolutely scary awful!

I was just telling a friend about that a couple weeks ago. Telling her why I hated Padre Island, lol. The snakes, the scorpions and the mosquitos waiting at the doors for a meal when you opened it.
