cool! I have one plant started from one seed I recieved in tormato's seed swap. looking very healthy and a very normal green color so far. still a seedling about 8" tall. do they all start out that way? does the blue come later?

Default Shadow Boxing Wavy Blue

I've got two planted out in Walls O'Water, but they are still small, and both are all green. I can't find any photos of the plant that had this "Wavy Blue" coloring. I don't remember if the plants showed any blue at the beginning last year, but at the end of the season when the temperatures were lower at night, they turned blue all over, stems, leaves, and the fruit got even bluer. Gnome, that's just what my fruit and plant looked like last year at the END of the season! Woo Hoo! I can't tell the shape of the fruit from your photo, are they oval with a pointy nipple on the blossom end? I plan to start more seeds this weekend (along with others) that will go out mid-June without protection. I'm going to plant a bunch and see if I can find some seedlings that show some blue right from the start. Thanks for starting the thread, I really hope that we can find that same tomato again this year, it was SO tasty and beautiful! Here are those photos again of mine last year:

Yes. The fruits are oval with a nipple and the plants are somewhat bluish.

Can't wait to see how they taste.

Those are absolutely gorgeous, Robin! They're like little works of art!

It looks like Gnomes sepals have a little more color than yours, too. Wonder if that means the tomato will have more color.

It's always fun to find out!

I'm happy to see that Gnome is getting what I did, at least in terms of appearance! One of my plants last year put out tomatoes that were this same shape, but red with green stripes without any hint of blue at all (see photo). Both versions were at least a 9/10 for flavor, though. Last year, some people didn't get this shape at all, so it's not stable yet. That's why I'm so happy to see the oval, pointy shape and all the blue! I have no idea what "F" generation these are. I'm glad that I could pass some seeds around because with the Dwarf Tomato Project stuff I've got, I don't have enough room to grow out a lot of Shadow Boxing!
