Lol, I had thought that also, that they might just be Yellow Pear. But my worst fear with this is that I will be the only one to have one germinate and with my track record with tomatoes . . .I'm sure to screw it ups somehow .

Let's just keep in mind that the WHOLE reason I sent these seeds to bully was because I didn't feel that I could give them their best shot at germination and productivity, given my growing circumstances.
The point was to spread them out, and spread out the risk. And to my mind, that is just what we have done...and if some are lost in the process, so be it...keep your eyes on the prize ! Look back at Carolyn's post in this thread regarding old seeds...it's important that one not give up too soon...could be months... And if they *ARE* Yellow Pear - well, then, I don't want to know! |

No... I don't have anything to report yet.
I don't suppose any of you others do and you maybe just forgot to tell us? I'm still optimistic |

My three cells are still void of life. I only check a few times daily now, so as to not get bummed. The three other cells are growing well with other varieties and will shade them if they don't surface soon...

No not yet. 16 quiet little pods. Only 10 days
now so I'm still hopeful....JJ61 Actually, 21 pods. A few seeds were stuck together or they were the bonus points from the "Caddy Shack" questions....JJ61 |

Let's look on the bright side...maybe the fact that it is taking them a while to germinate makes it less likely that they are Yellow Pear, since those fairly LEAP out of the starting mix...
I know, I know...no logic in that at all, old seeds, yada yada...just makes me feel a little better... |

Well, my extremely unscientific thought was that my yellow pear seeds are smaller than a lot of these.
Yeah, it sounds good anyway. Right now even if it was yellow pear I would still be happy to see one come up! Um, even though I have two more yellow pear already started, lol. (Hey, I hadn't grown them before!).

Hello
I see life! Curiously I sowed only 3 days ago. after a 2 day soak, they floated when first put in water, I didn't stir, dunk, or any tampering. After 48 hrs they sank of their own accord. they were plump, dark, and healthy looking. I see sprout with its head still buried. I hope it lives! Wild "whata ya kno" Life |
