My Yellow Taste Test..CCO, KBX, and Limmony . :)

First, all three were delicious! All solid, few seeds, but all the rain made them extra juicy! VERY impressed with all three. Plants included. All healthy, strong, and production will be above average!

5 people tasted and the winner with 3 votes was.... Chefs Choice Orange!! KBX got the other 2 votes but Limmony got all the second place votes!

Limmony was the surprise with a almost Green like flavor. Nice and tart and went well with Cabernet Sauvignon!

Pleased with all three!

Nice, i just picked a ripe Limmony! Mine have been good plants too. Stoked to taste it here in about 30 mins with dinner. Funny I grew Chef's choice pink. Got a big one but not quite ripe yet.

Those look delicious, my mouth is watering! My yellows are Taxi and Dr. Wyches yellow. Taxi should be ready soon, I am really eager for DWY.

I'm really surprised the Chef's Choice beat KBX. This year, I have Rumi Banjan and Babushkin Potseluy as yellows. I like them both, but I remember KBX as being better.

BigVan, I grew CCO,CCP, and CCG this year. Green died on me early on, Pink has issues but looks like it will be a while, all small fruit, but Orange is a monster again for me this year! Great looking plant, loaded with fruit. No doubt she'll be back next year.

Jillian, Dr. Wyches just never produced for me here in Charlotte. I've tried twice and only got a few.

Cole, So am I!!! BUT we will do it again because Darling Wife thinks because it was the first, and small for KBX, that the flavor was tainted! lol I do have some HUGE ones on the plant that will be over a pound for sure. Those will be the ones we will try next.
KBX has always been in my top 5 for flavor for years now. Just a perfect balance of citrus for my taste buds.

Mine was a meh for me. Didnt have any sweetness, It has been raining daily though & had split, and was first ripe so they will prob get better.

MY KBX did not germinate for spring planting.
I have Golden Jubilee as my yellow. Have not tasted it yet. I am not impressed with the plant itself..
I have Limmony and Azoychka seedling for fall garden.
We shall see how limmony does down here.

I really enjoy eating a nice Limmony. It is firm with great texture and a pleasant citrusy flavor that is great for salsa, salads and on the plate.

Chef's Choice Orange has always had great reviews.

I planted CCO and Burpee Orange Wellington side by side last year. Both did very well, and the only difference I could tell was that CCO was slightly more round rather than flat. Could not tell them apart in taste.
