Default 2008...is there a date?

My wife and I are looking forward to going to our first official tomato event! We'd like to schedule it as soon as possible, so if anyone knows a date please let us know.

We have not begun discussions yet, but the last dates we did talk about have been August 10, 17 or 24. For me, August 10 would be best for the most tomatoes from my garden; Aug 17 would be OK, later reduces my contribution. Depends on the heat of the summer this year.

Denise? Kent and Kathy? Gardengal? How about you Huntoften, do you have a preference? We are still small and informal, so everyone gets a vote.

The 10th would be best for us as well. I should have several varieties to bring along to share as well. Seems like an eternity away until this....

Earlier in the month is better for me, not knowing how my harvest will turn out in a first-time garden here. I have decided that the 2nd or 3rd week of August is when I need to go back home to Maine for a visit, haven't been there for years

The date has been set for Aug 17 in Lincoln. See the announcement by Piegirl in the Mid-West Tomato Fest thread. Hopefully everyone can make it.

We have changed the date to AUGUST 24 - same time, location. Most of us are impatiently waiting that first tomato even if it is a cherry! Piegirl

Garden - did you notice we have a new date for the Tomato Fest - August 24th - same time and place. Will you be able to join us? Just had a maybe Jet Star for dinner - it was pretty fine. The plant is different than my other JS but didn't have another one to compare. Piegirl
