Aphids - How to control???

For the past couple of years in the late summer I have had aphids on several ornamentals in my yard. This year they have spread to my garden.

I have used several differenct spays in the past for my ornamentals, and still have concentrate of a few brands.

Can any of you recommend what you have used in the past to get rid of the aphids while not harming the ripe tomatoes?

Two suggestions. Spray both the top as well as the undersides of the leaves with Take Down Garden spray:

It is relatively benign vs. Sevin, and the more "aggressive" Insecticides.

Second, if the number of Aphids is not too large, you might want to try hanging passive traps on each plant's cage:

They work pretty well and are completely non-toxic to the tomatoes:

You can get them for a Dollar each at Hydroponics stores. Each one makes 2 traps.

Hot Pepper Wax spray for me. I found it works a teeny tad better than insecticidal soap for me. And I agree with rnewste on the recommendation to spray both under and on top of the leaf. When there are a lot of them, you need to repeat in a few days.
