I started my seeds today

I started my peppers seeds today. I hope the time was right.

It may be a week or two early for the sweet peppers and perhaps several weeks late for some hot peppers from what I read.

I'm utilizing Craig's described dense seeding method with bottom heat and Fafard 3b mix.

Here is what I started and I hope they're good. It was essentially an uninformed selection.

Hot Peppers

Chinese Five Color
Kung Pao
Fish
Pasilla Bajio
Purple Jalapeno
Tabasco
Tai Little Red Chili

Sweet Peppers

Corno di Toro Giallo
Emerald Giant

Here are my germination rates at day 7.

Chinese Five Colors, Purple Jalapeno,Tabasco,Thai Little Red Chili, Macaroni Purple and Thai long seed were purchased last year by a co-worker and I don't know how he stored his seed. The rest were purchased this year.

Chinese Five Color 20%
Kung Pao 75%
Fish 93%
Pasilla Bajio 42%
Purple Jalapeno 0%
Tabasco 14%
Tai Little Red Chili 0%
Jalapeno M 45%
Serrano Chili 53%

Sweet Peppers

Good luck with those peppers NCTim.
I see you have Fish on your list. After reading the description of it in the catalog, and reading the thread on TV, I decided to grow it as well. The seedling has just grown it's first set of true leaves and is about 1/2" tall. I have high hopes for that one, along with Jamaican Hot Chocolate that I started at the same time. I've already trasplanted a Numex Big Jim (indoors). I hope to use that one for rellenos.

Thanks Jeff, I was sold by the blurb for Fish as well. I tried several hot peppers at Tomatopalooza last year so I thought I'd leave the norm (for me) and try growing some different stuff this year.

I am surprised at how fast the Fish seed germinated. I was under the impression that it took hot peppers longer to come up than sweet peppers. As it turned out Fish was the first to germinate and is now at 100% 14 of 14.
