Default seed suppliers and shady businesses

Every year, I see new seed sellers online and among them are a few that do business the old fashioned way, they take your money. So have you noticed any companies that you consider to have questionable business practices? What about good companies that you recommend to others?

I have a webpage with URL's to most of the seed sellers in the U.S. Please take a look and if you know of one that needs to be added, post a link and I'll put it in.

Here is one that I found earlier today and kind of wonder about their business practices. http://freeheirloomseeds.com/

My seed, plant, and supplies webpage is http://www.selectedplants.com/seedsupplies.htm

I have seen freeheirloomseeds.com before and would never ever ever do any business with them. What a great list of seed companies.

Darrel,
I did a very quick check and didn't see one of the new vendors, also
a member of T'Ville.

The member name is Chance the Gardner and the website is
Two Seeds in a Pod. I've ordered from him and found him to be
very personable, quick with well packaged seeds. He has some
very interesting items, some old favorites as well as some more
unusual cultivars, some from Turkey. He carries tomatoes and
peppers and many other things as well. I'd love to see him added to your list!

Thanks, Darlene

Two Seeds in a Pod

A great Japanese heirloom, Shi★★★★o, is now available from our online store: http://www.twoseedsinapod.com/…/hot-...#9733;★o

Hopefully, the link to the business I just suggested will work.

Darrel, are we supposed to go through your list and name here which ones each of us would not trust, and hopefully why?

Frankly, I don't feel all that comfortable doing that in public, maybe just me, but that's the way it is,

Carolyn

That green text makes my eyes go blurry , other than that it is a nice list to check out seed companies I didn't know about.

Thanks,

I maintain a list of seed vendors here that have proven themselves to be reputable with our members. If anyone here has any suggestions for additions (or subtractions) please feel free to share your experience.

http://tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=3

Most have a membership here and I have found that they are all willing to "make things right" should there be an issue with your order. Rather than publicly trash anyone, I would much prefer you contact me via PM and allow me to intervene in a diplomatic manner.

Honest mistakes do happen, orders get lost or delayed by the shipping companies - lots of variables beyond the control of vendors.

but also with happiness in your hearts

at the remembrance of my long happy life with you:

No matter how deep my sleep I shall hear you,

and not all the power of death

can keep my spirit

from wagging a grateful tail.
