A remarkable accident of photography. The edge of the bench lined up perfectly with the floor edge making it look as if the plate and tomatoes were sitting on the floor.

There's a variety called Gold Egg, offered by Golden Harvest, which sounds like it could be it. They've run out of seeds for this year but next year I'll get some and compare.
