Default HOT in Bakersfield Ca today

It got pretty hot here in Bakersfield, ca today…after reading a few post on TV I thought I better do something about the heat on my tomato’s, read a post about shade cloth and went down to the big brand hardware store and bought some, it was a 105 today and they say tomorrow will be 107 and the 4th 109, picture 2 is a cheap temp gauge made of plastic sitting on a bag of potting mix 2 feet from my tomato’s, It had been sitting there for only 10 mins, picture 3 is the temp from the potting mix itself, picture 4 is a leave on a pink Brandywine under the shade cloth, picture 5 is a beefsteak tomato leave in the sun uncovered, picture 6 is the temp of the ground under the shade cloth. The green cloth in a 70% block it say on the bag, I know it doesn’t look to fancy, but I had to put something up in a hurry this morning, I took the pictures around 4 pm today.
