Lazy Crossing
I wanted to cross Crnkovic Yugoslavian and Jaune Flamme this year. I couldn't vibrate any pollen out of a couple JF flowers I removed. So a couple of days later I removed a couple anther cones and slide them onto CY styles. I had removed the CY anthers a few days earlier likely before they would have been ready for pollen. Fast forward a bit, it looks like they took! Does this progression seem like the cross is likely and self pollination was not?

It seems possible. Depends on exactly at what stage you emasculated the CY's. Were the blossoms still closed? Were the pedals still white or edging toward yellow? Another crossing trick - don't remove flowers from the pollen donor plant. For some reason, they tend to give up way less pollen if you do. And also, you get extra tomatoes since you didn't remove any blossoms.

They were at two different stages IIRC. Think one was more white and the other maybe starting to tend toward yellow. I'd guess the one was maybe 2 days from opening and the other 3-4 dAys. The CY have larger styles than the JF, so it made for tight fit which I thought might be good. FWiW the stigmas didn't seem sticky yet.

Q: What possibly you will/might get from x-ing a yellow and a purple/dark variety ?
And which one is better to be the donor ? I want to get something that would be uncommon.

Which plant is the pollen donor shouldn't matter for the genetics, though it might make a difference in ease of doing the cross. (Different flower sizes, etc.) The real magic is what would happen in the next generation (F2). The color genes would be mixing up and you'd end up with yellow, red, purple, and green fruit on different plants.
