This baby is in Stage One, the Troll stage. Next it it'll graduate to Dinosaur, then Chick.

Yahtzee! Live-in pest control. They might not eat the really big hornworms the way cardinals do, but wrens are fierce little predators.

Some of my favorite birds, with their pugnacious little "Kiss my tookis" attitude. We had a pair that yearly nested under our covered back deck, above a sea of cats. They had anywhere from 2-5 come to maturi.. well.. adolescence.

Here' a shot of the nest and eggs, with one busted out.
