Default Wrong flower seed from Burpee!

Anyone else had this happen? First time for me: I bought a packet of Tricoma (Kniphofia or Torch Lily) and was thrilled to see 3 seeds sprout. I have nurtured and babied them for months, and though I thought the leaves looked odd and vaguely familiar, I ignored the warning signs and planted them in different spots in my garden. Tricoma leaves are spiky and they remind me of aloe; these looked like...and then really were...mini sunflowers! I have bought, and sowed, this single packet of flowers, in sterile seed starting mix, so I know it's not a mix up.
I think I'll break down and just buy the plant next year.
