For some reason the link would not find the item. This one seems to:

http://www.leevalley.com/US/garden/p...,56130&p=56130

or you can look for item # AA670.

This idea led me to several articles. I found this one interesting:

http://www.cherrylake.com/Resources/RoomToGrow.pdf

because of things like "a copper hydroxide pain compound (Griffin Corporation’s Spin Out) to curb the growth of ambitious roots,"

and also

"compliance with Step 10 of the new Florida Grades and Standards for trees – adopted in 1998 – calls for the culling of any container-grown tree exhibiting cirular root patterns."

I know that tap roots vs. lateral roots have been discussed here too. IMO, something that would speed up the phase following germination, but before the plants explode in later growth is interesting,

This website is another take, purportedly built upon the work of a Dr. Carl Whitcomb. If you download the PDF catalog there are some interesting things in there as well.

More to learn, as always!

Thanks.

Walter

Walter, what interesting links! Thanks for taking the time to research the correct link and find the pdf's you referenced. I do appreciate it.

Funny though, the link I posted still works fine for me....I wonder if the operating system we use makes a difference?
