My little dog boo is joining me tomorrow since my husband will be working. I am posting my Cell # (yes, I'm crazy) for anyone that wants to call and bug me during my 4 hour drive. 330-607-5952. Please feel free to call and harass me.

Hi Everyone,
I'll be in Middletown tomorrow until around 1:00. I'll probably come straight to Choptag from there which means I won't have any tomatoes because I'm quite certain they would bake in my car even in a cooler. I could make the extra drive and then come back, but all I have is 10 or so tomatoes anyway-three Earl's Fauxs, one Aunt Ruby's, two or three Marianna's Peace, and a few Cherokee Purples. Oh and one Trophy. So what I'm saying is I'll be there to hang out a bit, if'n that's alright with you. Ken |

I really hope CHOPTAG is a successful, thoroughly enjoyable event for all and everyone gets to try something new (and maybe squirrel away a few seeds too ).

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I'm going downstairs in a few minutes to pack up my small contribution for this year.
I only have about ten varieties but I’m still hoping to win the ‘Tastiest Tomato Award”. You’d think the rest of the folks would give it to me just because I show up every time we have a gathering.8) I’m sure looking forward to seeing everyone. It’s always a great time. I’ll try to do a decent job of providing results this year.

I too will be there in spirit! I was really hoping to see everyone this year, but I can't do a 10 hour r.t. road trip anymore....so I vowed to do an overnight trip...but that didn't pan out
What I don't understand is how you guys are saying you don't have many ripe 'maters ???? or are you sandbagging again? My garden has been in super-production mode for about a month .....and I'm 250 miles north. What gives? Anyway...enjoy the food, comraderie, tomatoes, etc. I am looking forward to the pics later today and tomorrow. p.s. Jerry or Earl will win best tasting - my prediction! Duane

I'm sure you all had a fabulous time. BUT, be careful driving home, you could be charged with DWIT (driving while under the influence of TOMATOES).
Perhaps I'll meet all of you fine folks next year. |

Okay, I don't want to be the spoiler for the tastiest tomato so let me only say that it wasn't Earl or Jerry's tomato that won They tried though. LOL.
It was great. The tomatoes were all beautiful. I've never had so many tomatoes in one day in my life. I was starting to get a little nauseous at the end every time I walked past them. I think we all truly gorged on them. It was so much fun meeting people like Remy and seeing Gary, Jerry, Lisa, Earl, and even Susan called me on my cell phone. The only brave one in the bunch. Hopefully they'll post pics soon.
