I don't know what kind of eggs they are, but not ALL eggs are bad. They could be the eggs of beneficial insects like ladybugs or some such that you'd want to keep around to eat the bad bugs. I'd wait for the hatch and find out what they are before killing.

Good Point, I should have said they are laid on my Giant Pumpkin plants, I thought bugs lay eggs on certain plants, so maybe that will help somebody narrow down the species.

Those are squash bug eggs - don't let them hatch.

So scrape them off, and squash them (ha ha), or will an insecticide do the trick?

I usually scrape them off into a container of soapy water, then dump them someplace after they've sat in it for awhile. I personally prefer not to use insecticides on my plants, because they wreak havoc with my pollinators.

Yep, just squash 'em good. Only pesticide needed is thumb and forefinger!
