On page one of this thread I said that Dr. Scott had sent me seeds for dwarves other than Micro Gemma.

When I got home tonight, I checked my collection and in the mailing envelope from Dr. Scott I found a coin envelope labeled "Micro Gemma" from IFAS University of Florida Gulf Coast Research and Education Center, Wimauma, FL. I guess I'd overlooked these earlier.

Again, you can see photos of Micro Gemma (yellow version) and Micro Tina (red version) at: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/HS224 These may not be the same variety as Rena's from Germany ... or they may be. Who knows? Actually, it's Micro Tina (the red version) that I did not receive.

This envelope contains way more seeds than I can use. Email me at PapaVic@Tomatoville.com with your contact info if you want a few.

I ordered Micro Tom this spring from Tomato Growers Supply with the intention of sowing them in fall to grow over the winter.

"Micro-Tom #6536 (30 seeds) $2.95
"World's smallest tomato variety," developed by Drs., J.W. Scott and B.K. Harbaugh at the University of Florida. Grows 5 to 8 inches tall in a 4 inch pot bearing flavorful miniature tomatoes about the size of salad croutons. Plants are truly diminutive and wonderful for patios, windowsills or garden borders. Determinate. 85 days from seed. "

These sound like the perfect tomato for people who want to use the upside-down planters.
