Productive in Atlanta - dwarfs and heirlooms
Despite the rain, my plants are producing copiously - hundreds of glorious green fruit -- but only cherries are ripening due to the rain and colder temps. Luckily, fruits are not splitting at all. What a year!
Pics below are of the various dwarfs, the amazing Lime Green Salad with at least 20 fruits so far, Bloody Butcher, Mule Team, Jaune Flammee, Anahit, Chanoka, etc. All pics are labeled with the name of the plant. Only 10 plants lost to various diseases so far - Prudens Purple and Marmande seem most vulnerable. Have not been able to spray for two weeks due to rain, but still diseases are proceeding only slowly. I am planting out young ones to replace the lost plants, mostly Aunt Ruby's German Green due to the stimulation of Carolyn's book. |
