I have never seen such provenance in descriptions.Here are the backsides of free seeds with recommended shelf life.

I can say that's the standard. I've ordered from Ukraine several times and practical all packages with seeds are described as such. The Russians do the same - I ordered from them before the war broke out

I placed an order a few days ago. Had a little trouble with charging a credit card (security I guess, because it was a payment to a bank in Ukraine), but my second attempt went through. The vendor's been good at keeping me updated as to the order status, which I always appreciate. I don't really need more seed, but I thought that supporting a seed company in Ukraine is a good thing to do.

When buying in Ukraine, I always paid via Western Union or Paypal. There was never any problem.

I don't think PayPal was an option or I would have used it. I've never used Western Union. With my credit card there are no foreign exchange fees and the exchange rate is reasonable.

Tried to order from my favorite UK seed vendor Chiltern Seeds.They accepted the order with new stipulation’s by USDA international plant products.Upon checking the Ukrainian envelope they changed the content of to Home Decorations.Thus avoiding the USDA rules.

Was the name of the company (organicseeds.top) on the outside of the package? If it was, I'm surprised it wasn't opened and inspected!

This was also the case when I bought from the official store in Ukraine. The seed envelope was labeled "Gift" and I paid duty on the value of the order. The value of the order exceeded the duty exemption. There were no other problems when buying from private sellers. The registered letter went through customs without any problems, without any fees.

I got an email informing me that the seeds would be labelled "gift" with a nominal value.

I do actually have a "small lots of seed" permit from the USDA. It is easy to obtain, and when overseas sellers request it, you send them a copy of the permit and an accompanying label that the seller uses when packaging up your order.
