Default Dwarf cherry tomato volunteers wanted!

Hi everyone!!

2018 will bring the continuation of finding great tasting cherry dwarf tomatoes as part of the dwarf project. I will be leading the Teensy and Emmy dwarf cherry tomato families and are looking for people that would like to grow some leads in these families--providing reports on growth/production/flavor/color/etc and saving seeds for sending back into the project at the end of your 2018 season. We have a lot of colors and even a few interesting shapes.

For more information and to volunteer, please see the respective threads below:
Teensy Family
Emmy Family

Thanks for your interest!

I’d be interested in working with some Teensy lines, especially purple, red, yellow, and/or orange ones, though I wouldn’t turn any of them away. I generally plant three plants for each variety I grow, have good luck with seed saving, and have very flexible space for growing.

Hi Shawn,

Glad to hear you're interested. I'll be sending a PM to work out seed sending details.

Others, feel free to checkout the Teensy and Emmy threads and respond if you're interested!

We can still use volunteers interested in advancing dwarf project cherry tomatoes. Check out the Teensy and Emmy families and see if a color or three interests you. Post here, in those threads or send a PM and I will arrange sending you seed.

What F-level are your seeds? And what colors and fruit sizes have shown thus far?

Check out the family threads (linked below), below is a really quick and dirty of the most most promising leads for each family with color and F-level. As far as size a quick generalization, most cherries are in the 0.5 to 1.0 oz range. A couple of the red and yellow cherries are in the 1.0-1.5 oz range. The GWR and purple cherries are more in the 0.3-0.5 oz. The minibeefsteaks are in the 0.5-1.5 oz range.

Some of these the seed amounts are somewhat limited. Teensy GWR and minibeefsteaks are most in need of volunteers, but many of the other colors could use more growers as well.

Teensy Family
Green Lead 1;F5 (clear skin T17-158)
Green Lead 2;F5 (clear skin T17-161)
Green;F4 (yellow skin)

We've gotten a few volunteers but I am especially looking for anyone interested in the following varieties that either have 0 or 1 people (that I know of) set to grow these color leads in 2018. Check out some of the links in the above posts if you'd like to look for more details and/or pictures. Feel free to fire away with questions!

Tomato sowing for 2018 has passed for some, but for many it is starting will be in the coming weeks. If there are any last people interested in growing some dwarf project cherry tomatoes for evaluation, please see the post above this to see what needs most attention!
