Sakata Seed
I've been looking and discovered Sakata supplies seed to a lot of seed companies... Burpee, TGS,Ferry Morse, etc... A Japanese Company with an American division, specializing in Hybrids, but a lot of them look like the OP varieties with different names, they do have a lot of interesting Hybrids, but I wonder what their definition of F1 Hybrid is...

I don't think they are OP with hybrid names. I have grown quite a few from different sites and they don't grow true to the original plant. Even Burpees hybrids that everyone questions I have found to be different then the parent plant when I save seeds from therm. sakata is another HUGE monopoly on seeds. kind of like monsanto. not a fan of the concept but the varieties are more suited to specialty areas such as farmers markets, high tunnels, greenhouses, hydroponics type growing. and expensive. I am thinking I need to start leaning towards OP and heirloom seeds in the future. my seed cost is astronomical because a lot of what I grow is hybrid varieties of flowers and vegetables.
